Homestead Resort Benefits for all Employees
· Employee Meals: A free meal is provided to all employees. This is available in the Employee Lunch room from 11am until 12pm and from 4:30pm until 5:30pm. A sandwich plate will be offered for the graveyard shift employees.
· Personal Hours/Vacation Hours: After one year of employment, hourly employees are allowed personal hours based on years of service and hours worked. The amount is figured out by formulas.
· Health and Dental Insurances: Year-round, full-time Homestead employees (30+ hours per week) are eligible for coverage under our Health, Dental, and Vision Insurances. There are different prices for years worked and for types of coverage (Single, 2 Party, Family). Employee must signup within 90 days of being hired, have a qualifying event, or must wait until Open Enrollment time. See Human Resources for questions about Insurance.
· Cafeteria Plan: The Cafeteria Plan option is available to all employees, no matter their hours worked. A Cafeteria Plan is an account that you can set aside a TAX-FREE amount from each check to reimburse yourself for Daycare Expenses or Health Expenses. This could be co-pays, prescriptions, or any out of pocket medical, dental, or vision expenses.
· New Hire Overnight: Employees get dinner for two in Simon’s, breakfast for two in the Grill Room and an overnight stay in the best available room at check in. Employees under the age of 18 can take the overnight stay if a parent or guardian accompanies them. Otherwise, they can still do the dinner and breakfast without the stay. Employees can do the stay after working for two weeks (or 14 days if not successive), but before 90 days of employment.
· Wedding Overnight Stay: Any employee who gets married after working for the Homestead for at least 1 year can request to take the Wedding Overnight Stay, which is the same as the New Hire Overnight. It is based on space availability.
· Homestead Anniversary Dollars: For each year employed by the Homestead, they will issue Homestead Dollars and a new nametag. $20 Homestead Dollars will be given for each year employed. Dollars are only progressive if the employee works at least 400 hours in each year. Employees earn $20 if they work but don’t meet the 400 hours in the year.
· Homestead Birthday Dollars: The Homestead recognizes each employee’s birthday with $25 Homestead Dollars. The employee must be employed for at least one year before receiving any Homestead Dollars.
· Restaurant Discounts Benefits: Each Homestead employee full time and part time, may bring up to three guests, one time per month, for breakfast or lunch or dinner at a 50% employee discount. This privilege may be used once per month in each of the outlets (Fanny's Grill and Simon's). Food only is included in the discount and is for in-house dining only. This is on a space available basis. Please do not come during busy times or holidays and expect a discount.
· Annual Winter Certificate: Every year the Homestead offers a gift certificate to Day’s Market in Heber City to each employee. This can be used to purchase anything the employee would like. This certificate is usually issued in November or December. This is the Homestead’s version of a “Christmas Bonus” for all employees.
· Principal 401(k) Retirement program: Employees who have worked for the Homestead for at least one year, have worked at least 1000 hours in one year, and are 21 or older are eligible to participate. Employees can contribute up to 75% of their wages to the 401(k) plan. It is never too early to start planning for the future!
· Mention Program: An employee can receive a “mention” from guests, other employees or management at the Homestead. “Front of the House” employees must have 8 mentions and “Back of the House” employees must have 3 mentions to get a Mention Award. This can be redeemed for a selection of prizes that may include cash, Homestead Dollars, Overnight Stays, etc.
· Employee of the Month: If an employee or manager feels that someone has done a fantastic job or has gone above and beyond their normal duties, they can elect that person for Employee of the Month. Employee of the Month receives a framed certificate and a list of prizes to choose from. They will automatically be qualified for Employee of the Year.
· Employee of the Year: Employees who win Employee of the Month throughout the year are eligible for Employee of the Year. If they win, they get an assortment of prizes including cash, Homestead Dollars, and a trip to the Lodge.
· Annual Employee Party: We currently hold an Annual Winter Party for all employees to attend. There are door prizes as well as raffle prizes.
· Homestead Helping Hands: This is a program set up by the employees to help out our employees. Any employee who has worked for the Homestead a minimum of 6 months may apply for up to $300 assistance once per year in an emergency situation. The money in this program comes from voluntary donations from employees. Employees who contribute donate from $1 to $25 per check into this program.
· Paid Training and Certifications: We will pay for in-house training for CPR and First Aid. Hourly wages will be paid to all employees for taking these CPR and First Aid classes. The Homestead will reimburse $10 for Food Handlers and $15 for alcohol certifications. There will not be an hourly wage paid for Food Handlers or Alcohol Certification classes.
· Time Clock Giveaways: The Homestead does many trades with other companies for a variety of goods or services. They will then pass a lot of these on to the employees. When the Homestead has any giveaways, there will be a memo and signup sheet at the time clocks. Any employees interested in being in the drawing for these “goodies” can signup. These will be randomly chosen and tickets or goods will be distributed.
· Travel Discounts: The Homestead is part of 2 different discount programs for traveling. Quest and RHA both have discounts with participating hotels and resorts. This is a free membership for all employees. See HR for details.
· Discounts with Homestead Partners: We have worked out “partnerships” with local businesses to offer discounted activities for our guests and employees. Some businesses we have agreements with are Rocky Mountain Outfitters, Homestead Snowmobiling, Heber Valley Railroad, and Wasatch Ballooning.
